Bridal FAQ's

I thought i would start my first blog about weddings and information for brides.

I have been a makeup artist since 1992 where I  completed my Diploma of  Makeup Artistry & Technology in Adelaide.

Over the years I have been asked a variety of questions from Brides about what to expect on and leading up to their wedding day from a Makeup Artist point of I have compiled some FAQ's.

Q.   When should I have a make-up trial?

A.   2-4  months before your wedding preferably

Tip: Book early as bookings can be up to 12 months  in advance.

Q.   Should I start a beauty regime?

A.   Yes at least 2 - 3 months before as this  will
ensure your skin will be looking great.

Tip: Cleanse, tone and moisturise daily,  exfoliate once a week, facial mask every 1-2 weeks.

Q.   Do I need any beauty product with me on
       the day of the wedding?
A.   Yes , lipstick, gloss, powder.   (I can  provide
these if  required for a small fee)

Tip: Increase water intake, this will keep your skin hydrated and reduce flaking. Start to apply lip balm every day this will keep your lips supple.

Q. What can i do to reduce facial hair?

A.    There are a variety of things you can try
such as threading, waxing, tweezing, hair
         removal  creams.

Tip: Avoid waxing on the day as this can leave redness and makeup will not adhere to waxed skin.  Have this done 1 week -  4 days prior to your trial or day of event. Most people always do their eyebrows but don’t forget to also do your upper lip and chin if necessary.

Q.    How can I make my eyes stand out more?

A.     Simply have your lashes tinted or have
eyelash extensions./false lashes. This will help
          intensify your eyes.

I offer complimentary false lashes for my Brides and i also sell lashes.  Go to my store EditKit  to see range of lashes i have for sale plus other products.

Q.    I am thinking of having a tan for my
wedding.  Will that  effect my trial?

Tip:  Make sure to have a spray tan before your wedding day to test the colour and quality

contract you know exactly what  services you
are getting and also stipulates time date and

       place of event.about you.

Q. Can I have my wedding trial on a Saturday?

A. Due to the many weddings I am booked for, I recommend wedding trials  Mon-Thurs or if  I have availability, on Saturday afternoons.  I do not do trials on Sundays.

A. YES.  any reputable business should and will have

     public liability insurance.

A. YES I am a registered business and my ABN number is

Q. How long should I allow for my trial?

A. For makeup allow 1-1.5 hrs.

Q. What should i expect at my trial?

A.  After introductions we discuss your desires and needs for you look.  It is advisable to bring with you photos of makeup looks you love.  It can be an eye makeup or a total look.  We discuss your preferences and start the makeup process.

During this time we discuss numbers in your bridal party requiring makeup, design and colour of your dress, time your photographer arrives and the time I am needed to start and have you finished by.

This is also a good time for you to ask me questions too!  Also dont be afraid to say what you like and dont like.  Communication is the key, so speak up if there is something about your makeup application you do not like.  I wont be offended :)  Its easy to fix the makeup and tweak it to what you want.
